When I was pregnant with my first baby way back in 2008, I searched high and low for fitness videos that would help me stay fit during and after pregnancy. I bought a few exercise videos while pregnant that were okay, but nothing great. Then, after I had my precious, bundle of joy, I was search one of my fave sites-Amazon.com (Really, whose isn’t?), and found this video call Moms Into Fitness with Lindsay Brin Boot Camp. It was a post-natal fitness program, and it looked promising, so I bought it. Let me tell you, it was one of my favorite workouts I had ever done! As an instructor, Lindsay is SO down-to-earth, and as a mother, I found her incredibly authentic, because she is also a mother. If you check out her website at https://www.momsintofitness.com/ , you can find out more about her. What I love about her as a trainer is that she is so personable, an
d she shares her story (battles with infertility, getting her body back after baby, etc.) with her clients. I am in no way being compensated for this post. These are 100% my thoughts on Lindsay and her programs. Click the image below to see all the ‘awesomeness’ available!
I have done ALL of her post-natal programs, all of her super-fit programs, and most recently her 30 day core program. I am continuously delighted at what she brings to the table and the variety in her workouts. If you are looking for an challenging, body-changing workout program, I highly recommend her Pretty Fierce Lean-Out program. I have been working out pretty consistently for the last two years, and that program still whips my butt. I have yet to find a workout harder than the Total Body Endurance workout from that program. Whew! Now, that workout is no joke. If you are interested in that program, you can click the image below. (Again, I am in no way compensated for this. I am just trying to offer what I have learned to my readers!) I have to say the $59.95 price tag is a steal, compared to the price of other similar workout programs.
Hey there friends! So, I have been interested in fitness and nutrition nearly my whole life. I have gone through and tried SO many different things, it would literally make your head spin. Seriously. It makes my head spin just thinking about it. In addition, I am a certified fitness video/web blog/exercise-routine-of-the-moment junkie. It is a serious ailment. I couldn’t care less about any of the marketing ploys on television EXCEPT for those fitness program infomericials. Oh man, they seduce me in a bad way. I can seriously be drawn in by any of them. At the end, I am like, I HAVE TO HAVE THAT! Anyone else with me on that? Ummm, please tell me I am not the only one. I have bought A LOT of those programs, and I actually do them, and honestly, most of them are great programs. I have also found some GREAT online programs/support for fitness and nutrition that I am dying to share with you! I am going to take them one at a time. If you have questions about something specific you have seen, comment or shoot me an email. I am sure that either I have tried it in the past, or I will look into it for you! Take a look at my first post on one of my faves in fitness for moms or moms-to-be!
Health and understanding where my food is coming from has been a focus for me this year. I really want to understand what is going into the food I feed my family. So, I have been slowly trying to weed out most processed foods and sugars. It is a struggle with the kids, because they are not as willing to try new things. So, I have begun with trying out new things with David (the hubby) and me. I was at a wine festival in February, and I stumbled across these spices from a company called Teeny Tiny Spice Company. I bought some of the spice blends, because they just sounded so darn good. I used them and I loved them. I started following TTS on Instagram (@teenytinyspice), and imagine my surprise when I found out they were just a stone’s throw away from me in Singers Glen! Love it!
What I adore about this company are that they are certified organic which means no GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Love that! In addition, their spice blends are seriously killer. I love their Montreal Steak Seasoning for all kinds of cooking. Another one that is fabulous is Chocolate Chili–the spice is amazing on chicken. (Note: it does have a little maple sugar in it.) Or throw it on some sweet potatoes or brussel sprouts coated in olive oil and roast for spicy, sweet perfection! I have included links to Teeny Tiny Spice Company’s website, as they have all of their spices for sale for shipping.
This has been a long time coming. I have been trying to figure out a way to find a way to combine my love of writing into a way to bring meaningful content to people who are looking for it.
So, I came up with meaningful madness. I will be chatting with you about a wide range of topics having to do with mommyhood (I just like that word so much better than motherhood at this point. Could be because my children are young and still call me ‘Mommy.’) So, food, fitness, kiddos, things for moms and kids to do together–all of that is on the table for this blog.
In the last year, I have been on a quest to understand how I can make my life more meaningful in the midst of the frantic pace of life, running from here to there to there to here, and never really having much time. I have also been on a quest to figure out how I can ensure that I am making the best and healthiest choices for my family (and for me) along the way. With this quest for health and wellness has come a huge change in my life. It has been so exciting, and I will share with you what I have learned along the way. I am so excited to be able to begin. So cheers to an incredible journey! XO
